Forum Post: 2012 HART Plant of the Year Award Monsanto Muscatine Video Case Study
The Control Engineering magazine team put together an outstanding video on Monsanto Muscatine and their use of AMS Device Manager and HART diagnostics.
To see how they are using these technologies in their maintenance strategy, check out the article, A Straightforward Maintenance Strategy Yields Improved Plant Performance.
It includes an embedded 8:09 video featuring Monsanto's Joel Holmes, site electrical reliability engineer.
Joel spoke at the 2012 Emerson Exchange technical conference in Anaheim. If you attended this event, you have access to the library of presentations including Joel's presentation.
Congratulations on the award and sharing your effect use of technology with automation professionals around the globe.

Forum Post: AMS Scan Manager
Hi, we are getting timeout error when trying to scan for device. Following are the details.
HART Version : 6
AMS Version : 11.5
When we see communication log, AMS sends command "0" for many times and eventually it is timedout.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Blog Post: A Unified Approach to PID Control Steps 12-16 Tips
A unified approach to tuning has been found that enables a common and simplified method for setting PID tuning parameters. Key features can be used to eliminate the need for retuning to deal with different dynamics and objectives. Here are steps 12-16 in a methodology that integrates a unified tuning approach and key features to minimize implementation and maintenance efforts.
12. Add output tracking for equipment protection and a full throttle (bang-bang control) strategy for the fastest possible time to reach setpoint on startup and for batch operations.
Forum Post: RE: Density calculation of MV transmitter
Hi Andy,
Yes, I mean 3095MV and 3051SMV. We have both types in our company.
Can I understand as below:
For 3095, the flow accuracy will be bad as far as the P and T away from its configured P and T range.
For 3051SMV, it will not impacte by this.
Regards
Daniel

Forum Post: PVX-I/O with Deltav SX controller inverting analog inputs
Does anyone know how to easily invert an analog input with PVX-I/O on a Deltav SX controller? In Provox there was an invert option on the IST. We have had to bring the input into a scaler function block to invert it and then to a pseudo AI custom composite block. Also, in Provox you could make the 0-100% eng. units on an AI any direction and positive or negative. We have vacuum readings that were scaled in Provox at 20 for 0% and 30 for 100%. The top end of 30 is more vacuum. These we had to change on the DV AI block to be -20 at 100% and -30 at 0%.
Anyone else encounter these issues and find another way to work around them? Thanks

Forum Post: RE: DeltaV FHX Export issue "No Such Interface Supported"
1) Close all DeltaV applications.
2) Stop the DeltaV service and any other DeltaV related services that may be running.
3) Run the command “regall /register” from the command prompt (If your DeltaVAdmin user password has been changed you will need to know that password).
